How do you promote equality and diversity?

We’re fully committed to providing a learning environment where everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed and is treated with respect and dignity.

We’re determined to ensure that our leaders, managers and employees contribute to the prevention of discrimination and prejudice, while acknowledging that inequality and bias exist in our society, and that no individual or organisation - including Kaplan - is perfect. We actively embrace the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) by embedding them in our learning environments and programmes of study, and in the ways in which we work.

We stand against any form of discrimination or racism and fully support the challenge to remove racism and racial inequality from our world.

Our core values and policies help to guide us so we operate consistently. We provide specific and ongoing training in equality, diversity and inclusion for all of our staff and we actively encourage all of our learners to take responsibility to treat everyone equally and with respect, recognising that diversity enriches their learning experience.

Our student code of conduct sets out how we create a study environment for our learners and staff that is safe and where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

During our induction process, all new learners are introduced to our fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. Our apprentices are encouraged to build upon their understanding of these values through discussions with their Talent Coaches.
